| This is a song about james time in rehab,and his past experiences."Amber" is a street name for heroin and when he says "never as sweet as it seems" he is talking of how it quickly goes wrong as addiction kicks in and you are left wishing you had never started. | |

| I think amber is more than likely a reference to liqor. The fact that it is "sweet" amber makes me think that its maybe refering to Southern Comfort or someting like it. | |
