	Think about this song for a minute then think about Newsted. As all big tallica fans know, the band treated Jason like shit when he first started right?... then they grew to accept him . They took all their anger out on Jason after Cliff died. Then when Jason wanted to move on and have a side band, (Echobrain), Jaymz completly denied him doing it and thats when Jason left the band. So, now picture these words. 'Do you bury me when im gone? Do you Teach me while im here?, JUST AS SOON AS I BELONG, THEN ITS TIME I DISAPPEAR'. Meaning that when Jason was 100% Metallica, and they accepted him, he disappeard. This isnt necessarily the reason they wrote the song tho cuz Jay is still bassist here.

	The interpretation of the song being about jason is completely wrong as he didn't leave the band untill 2001, while this song was released in 2000. Also, you can see jason quite clearly as the business guy in the video

	I'm almost certain myself that this song has something to do with Metallica's personal problems after Load was released, like being a heavy metal band who became more mainstream and MTV friendly. (just as soon as i belong, then it's time i disappear) If you look at the lyrics it could make perfect sense. After the black album, Metalla had been gone from the spotlight for 5 years, just after their biggest hit, Enter Sandman was out. (again, just as soon as i belong, then it's time i disappear) Since then fans had been anticipating a new release, and some gave up(do you bury me when i'm gone?), but when Load came out, they recieved alot of criticism for becoming a more 'alternative' band. This was due to changing their image, cutting the hair, having a few 'alternative' hits and playing at Lollapalooza. I'm sure the band felt critics and fans were overstepping their boundaries trying to tell them what kind of band they were(do you teach me while i'm here?) After that said and done, some of the lyrics should be more self-explanatory. "here i go into new days" "and i went on down that road" "aint no mercy left for me"
