Intro
Play this twice a with clean tone:
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|-0-0-3-5-0------|-0-3-5-0-------|-0-3-5-0-3-5---|
PM--------- PM-------- PM----------

|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|-0-0-0-3-5-0----|-0-3-5-0-------|-0-3-5-0-------|
PM----------- PM-------- PM--------------
Basically the intro only heavily distorted:
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|-0-0-3-5-0------|-0-3-5-0-------|-0-3-5-0-3-5---|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|-0-0-0-3-5-0----|-0-3-5-0-------|-0-3-5-0-------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|-3-3-3-5-0------|-3-3-3-5-0-----|-3-3-3-5-0-----|
|-3-3-3-5-0------|-3-3-3-5-0-----|-3-3-3-5-0-----|
James plays this with some effect:
|----------------| |----------------|
|----------------| |----------------|
|-------12-------| |-------12-12b---|
|-12-15----12----|<---6x then: |-12-15----------|
|----------------| |----------------|
|----------------| |----------------|
|----------------|
|----------------|
|----------------|
|----------------|
|-3-3-3-5-0------|
|-3-3-3-5-0------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|-0-0-3-5-0------|-0-3-5-0-------|-0-3-5-0-3-5---|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|-0-0-0-3-5-0----|-0-3-5-0-------|-0-3-5-0-------|
|----------------| |----------------|
|----------------| |----------------|
|-------12-------| |-------12-12b---|
|-12-15----12----|<---6x then: |-12-15----------|
|----------------| |----------------|
|----------------| |----------------|
Lead Verse Riff:
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|-0-0-12-0-12-12-|0--------------|---------------|
Kirk plays this under James's Lead riff for the verse
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|-2b-------------|---------------|-2b------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
Back to verse, then chorus 1, verse, Chorus 2 then:
|----------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|
|-0-0-12-0-12-12-|0--------------|
|----------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|
|-------3--------|-------3-------|<---6x
|----------------|---------------|
|-0-2/3---0001---|-0-2/3---000111|
Play this when James is singing the stuff like
"This is the Cloud that swallows trust"
|----------------|
|----------------|
|----------------|
|----------------|
|----------------|
|-3-5-5-3-5-5----|
I don't know what to play when the guys are chanting "Ominous I'm in us".
This is the ending riff that I think is hilarious:
|-12h17-12h17----|-1212-12h17----|-12h17-12------|
|-12h17-12h17----|-1212-12h17----|-12h17-12------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|<-2x
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
|----------------|---------------|---------------|
That's it,

| ok folks listen up, now in my arrogant opinion I think I got whjat this song means. Ok, now take a look at the lyrics and it'll start to makes ense, I think this track is about Hetfield himself, the other side of him that he hates. The side of him that makes him do all the things he regrets and all the things that he did do...the old self that was just a compete nfuck up. "Some Kind of Monster"....he feels his alternate side is some kind of monster...." Silence no more" I think this means him lashing out at himself and getting sick of himself and actually doing something about it. Obviously, this song means alot to him and you can really feel the piss and vinegar radiating from Hetfield in this tune...the most passionate tracks are played when the writer feels hatred for something...especially themselves. | |

| Probably the worst song i've ever heard. Especially the ending, classic Metallica. Gamblor , you have read far too much into the lyrics. Metallica have said that they will no longer be writing meaningful lyrics as they wont make enough money doing that. Metallica also recently commented that the album was released as a joke and that it was recorded in 4 hours in Lars' basement. However, Mercury records decided there were enough fans out there for the album to make millions, and here you all are! | |

| i agree with tallicasr05. if you watch the movie, u can plainly see, that although it may for James, the song really doesn't have a meaning. it is about exactly what the title implies, "Some Kind of Monster" | |
