Song meaning: Obvious...... Back when I heard this in 1988-89, it really wasn't one of my favs, but since has grown on me and I can now really appreciate the song for it's music and complex structure whereas before I just really liked the guitars and True hard-hitting message!!!

Jigkusabre definitely said it best. The song can be seen as a kind of 'warning' to people to not always trust the government to not be corrupt. Besides all that, the anger in James' voice is definitely heard, and makes that song so much better. The marathon length of the song also makes you miss old-school Metallica.

they were at the top of their game with this album, then they went and recorded the black album.....it wasnt bad, but wasnt brilliant either.
