DEAD DISCO - Metric
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: Madison Wikston
Email: madness_225@hotmail.com
Tuning: Normal
This is the first song I’ve ever tabbed on guitar, so it probably has a couple mistakes.
sounds to me like there is something wrong with the 1st solo, but I think the rest is
accurate. If you know how to correct any of my mistakes, please feel free to email me. I
really surprised that I couldn’t find a good tab for it. It’s a pretty easy song, so
fun with it!
Make sure if you’re playing it on an electric guitar to use some gain.
INTRO:
e|-11--8--11--8--11-8--11-8---|11-8--11-8--11-8--11-8----------------------|
B|----9-----9------9-----9----|--9-----9-----9-----9-----------------------|
G|------8------8-----8-----8--|----8-----8-----8-----8---------------------|
D|----------------------------|--------------------------------------------|
A|----------------------------|--------------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------|--------------------------------------------|
(The verse music actually starts half way through the intro, and if you have a 2nd
playing with you in like a band or whatever, than you would probably want to put that in
too. So you would actually start the verse music after the break I put in the intro, and
it would last 2 more times, so x7 instead of x5 as I have showed below.)

"Everyone's the same... No one's got a face left to blame" is totally shunning how no one really has an identity and there's not really a such thing as being unique when you're always going to somehow fit into some other group. It goes for the music industry too - everything's been done. Where's the originality in modern music? So many bands duplicate eachother in an attempt to make their own songs sound unique. Thankfully, disco died long ago.

I guess this song is about the evolution of music? People think one type of music is "dead" when really it's progressing-- being "remodeled"

Everything's already been explained. This is definitely a kick ass song though. I love the video, because Emily Haines is rocking out so hard in it.

yes this song is amazing live....again, i wish they could've recorded this a little better because after seeing the live performance, the recording sounds very dull. even though it still kicks ass and yes, i agree with swedishfish about the meaning...and metric showcases the 'remodeling' in this song, methinks

yup...pretty much what everyone said...the fact that people think some genres of music are dead...even though they live either y people listening to them or by reinventing them...and people making their "new" music when really its just been influenced by either these "dead" gengre or by other bands...i think this especially rings thrue with todays music...were everything "pop" pretty much sounds the same (britney, JT, etc) and were everything that is "underground" either becomes over produced and possibly "sold out" (punk pop) or just becomes as a whole...the new definition of whats "popular" (emo, remodelled rock bands (killers, jet, etc)
