| everyone is right about what the french translates into excpet the last line "Je n'ai pas d'espoir." if you know correct french it translates into "i have no despaire" although aaron could have wanted it to mean something other than what the people who are fluent in french hear/read. and yes.. mewithoutYOU in person is amazing and 100 times better than on a cd.. cd's don't do bands justice. aaron is a really nice guy.. and is amazing that he stands up for his faith in such a profound way these days... i love small shows when they play.. its more "personal" if you would. | |

| when i interviewed aaron he said the french part means "I will raise my eyes to you i have changed my name [many] 100 times, i will raise my eyes to you, and i will not lose hope" but he doesn't speak french and he made his girlfriend translate it for him. | |

| "But when you're tired, if you're quiet, you'll hear me singing you to sleep" absolutely amazing! last time I saw mewithoutyou was over the summer with chiodos I believe. They put on such a great show. This and "Gentlemen" are probably my favorites. | |

| The last stanza is pure bliss "When you laugh You'll feel my breath there Filling up your lungs And when you cry Those aren't your tears but I'm there Falling down your cheek. And when you say you love him Taste me I'm like poison on your tongue But when you're tired If you're quiet You'll hear me singing you to sleep" Especially the last two lines like badtowndisaster already said, i mean seriously I've heard some good lines but that one might seriously be one of the best lines i've ever heard. And dude the Chiodos, mewithoutyou, and Coheed tour was fucking amazing. | |

| I know to the lyricist this is probably about a relationship with a girlfriend, but I interpretted it another way. I see it as a friend abandoning all of his old friends completely to be with a girl who breaks his heart. The lines, "let us die, let us die, dying we reply, 'don't you tell us about your suffering, look in our eyes'" show that the friends are sick of hearing his problems with the girl, they want to know why they were abandoned for such a hurtful girl. The last line, "But when your tired, if you are quiet, you'll hear me singing you to sleep" means when its all over, the friends will still be there, no matter how much shit you put them through. Maybe its a little specialized, but something similar happened to me, so thats how I relate. | |

| As i am half french and canadian i hope everybody will trust me on my translation : " Je leverai les yeux a toi " => I will raise my eyes to you Although if is not good french, it should have been "Je leverai mes yeux vers toi" =) "J'ai change cent foi de nom" => I have changed my name a hundred time No question it is not about faith. But here again there is a problem in the french, there is a S missing. Or maybe it is a very intelligent play on word, that could be understood as "I have changed my name without faith", if the french could be interpreted as "j'ai changé mon nom sans foi". But the correct french, as writen before, would be "J'ai changé cent fois de nom" "Je n'ai pas d'espoir" => Easy, it's "I have no hope". Not despair, which is "désespoir" in french. | |

| it should be "don't you tell us about your suffering" not "talk to us about". I think this song, like many of their songs, is about having a deep regret for a love that has gone. and how even though the girl has tried to move on, she will never be able to forget the time they had together. | |

| yeah, there's a typo... it's supposed to be "d'espoir" not "d'spoir"... anyone who takes French knows you don't use " d' " if the following word doesn't start with a vowel... ahh... this song... all their songs... aah... | |
