| this song is pretty emotional and its lyrics are true australia did originally belong to the aboriginals but what i dont get is how people in other countries could dislike midnight oil for what they sing about wen most of their lyrics dont mean a thing to them...the oils are true aussie and sing about aussie stuff | |

| As soon as I hear Beds Are Burning I think of Austrailia, and Classic Rock in SW Indiana is playing it nightly. AC-DC and Mid-night Oil are rankers here. Great song and I hope to hear it again as I did last night. The Mack runs better,....and the Scania runs better when Oils a rockin'!! | |

| Peter Costello once said that the land belongs to the Australian taxpayers- what a lie! The land belongs to the Australian Aborigines. One guy said that "(we) made something of their land..."; at least the Aborginies took care of the land; infact, if there were only Aboriginies on this planet, not even the term global warming would exsist. | |

| Yeah. "The time has come a fact's a fact it belongs to them let's give it back" Gives away Peter Garret's meaning here... But perhaps he should lead by example ? lol | |

| hey, this is a site for music not anyones political views... the world was a better place under the british empire - no major war for over 100 years... if you ozzies are so bitter and upset about then leave oz and give it all back to the dirt worshiping peasants.. the strong govern the weak... still a great song tho... | |

| It's a shame about the Oils breaking up (for now anyway...) I might not see them live. Anyway, to everyone who doubts Midnight Oil, such as the people above me ^^, you're just misinformed and stupid. Midnight Oil were a great band with a swagful of great songs and I wish more people knew more of their songs than 'Beds Are Burning' and a small handful of others that get played a lot. Other songs to start out on by the Oils which rock include: 'Short Memory', 'Sometimes', 'Truganini', 'Forgotten Years' etc. | |

| I got a question. I dont know if any of you are familiar with Nostradamus and his Quatrains, but he once wrote "at 45 degrees the sky will burn" and the line: Holden wrecks and boiling diesels steam in forty five degrees reminds me of it. does anyone know if there is a connection? | |
