Millencolin - The Ballad
G
The last selection in the ballgame,
Em D C
Does never get a pass.
G
"Not appreciated´s" just his first name.
Em D C
He´s the scapegoat of the class
G
There are no friends to cheer him up and
Em D C
no girls, no sweet romance.
G
And it´s impossible to expand,
Em D C
when you never got a second chance.
G Em D C
Do you know, who´s that guy, who´s all alone?
G Em D C
Do you care enough to see? He´s in pain and misery
G
He´s not going to the school-prom.
Em D C
He said he had the flue.
G
Trumped-up excuses as he told mom.
Em D C
-I´m safer here with you.
G
She told her son. -Some day they´ll all be
Em D C
sorry for mistreating you.
G
Don´t be afraid my son and trust me,
Em D C
-You´ll be someone they will look up to.
G Em D C
Do you know, who´s that guy, who´s all alone?
G Em D C
Do you care enough to see? He´s in pain and misery

Do you care to see?

This song is an awesome song, its so true, people are put down constantly by people who think too highly of themselves and dont care whether or not they are verbally scarring anyone....We wonder why so many people take their own lives, and it can be as simple as constantly hacking on someone to make them feel worthless...this is a rad song with much meaning.

i have to agree ... we can all relate to this song in SOME way ive never really been much of a dickhead to ppl it makes me think twice b4 putting someone down ... i try not too ... BTW ... just a tip: we really shoud think about the things we say ... one of the girls @ my school cominted a suicide this week (15yrs old) ... i didnt know her but my friends say i would've seen her around ... still trying to get a photo of her to find out who she was ... anyway my point is ... most ppl kill themselves for the same reasons mantiond in this song ... basicly we kill those ppl ... something we shouldnt be very proud of good message and good song from millencolin! jacob_c7

The beauty of this song is that it also tells you to rise above your tormentors and prove them wrong, and that suicide is not the answer.
