| the first two lines make me think he is talking about horoscopes. how some people base their actions on those, so when something goes wrong they can blame them. i dont think the whole song is about that, but it could be one part... | |

| this song is about people who blame others, and don't take the initiative to go out and enjoy life. The song is thick with metaphor but the message is rather simple. Alot of songs on this album are permeated with the same type of message. | |

| This song has great lyrics, although the fans of Modest Mouse's harder-driving music might not seem to like it as much. I think the track order placement in the album is deliberate, it seems like a contrast to their harder-driving music. A lot of the song he points out examples of how crazy and backward America's values are. Actors and celebrities take credit in the public eye for work made by other people, who are more than glad to spread their messages behind a veil of public figures - that's a very good one. The Teton imagery is good - I think that was a perfect example of a silly scapegoat - he doesn't know why the world is as crazy at is is, so why not pick someone to blame it on? And geez, all he wants anyway is just a cold one anyways... Great song for those of us who feel confused and wonder why we were put here on earth - captures that feeling perfectly. | |

| Hey, there is a dam in idaho state called the teton dam and it burst one time. I always thought the song had something to do with that but now i realize that i am probably wrong but its just a thought. | |

| All you guys are fucking idiots except deliriumtrigger, if you guys understood anything about modest mouse...they're old stuff specifically, Isaac is using the Teton Indian Tribe as a center of blame for all of his financial, drug, social problems, as this tribe was one of the last tribes to not be suscepted over to "modern western culture" The Tetons were a branch off the Sioux Indians who strided in the Great Plains. As soon as these last Indian tribes gave up hope for their way of life (dont get me wrong, most tribes today still practice their old rituals and such, they just dont fight US Government as strongly anymore), Intro to the production era began, which eventually led to the selling and marketing eras. | |

| i love this song. but the part where he says "but the spider's..." annoys me for some reason. he sounds like a really eager middle aged housewife or something...i dunno. still, its an incredible song, and that whole cd rules. the part where he says "no my dog wont bite you, but it has the right to" makes me laugh really hard. i have no idea what this songs about. | |

| The tetons were named so because they looked like breasts. That said, remember how Janet Jackson got in huge trouble for showing a nipple on television? Maybe we're all blaming our insecurities on the wrong people. Who's fault is it that breasts are such a big deal? Don't blame Janet Jackson. Don't blame MTV (I know how much you want to). Blame it on the tits. Blame it on the tetons. Get it at all? | |
