| This song reminds me of working class America. I relate to it so much (death and taxes). I love the guitar in this song. | |

| this song is almost definitly about society, "you gotta have a job", and people trying to get as much money and accomplish as many superficial goals("build up the monuments and steeples") and "losing all touch" with the world, and in doing so destroying it. the one part i dont get is: Message read on the bathroom wall Says, "I don't feel at all like I fall." there's a lot of wisdom in message on bathroom walls, i wonder what this means... | |

| I can play this song pn guitar now. Its pretty simple exept for that part in the middle, but I'm just a begginner guitarist. I love how Isaac can fit 3 pages worth of meaning and contemplation into 5 or 6 lines of metaphorcal lyrics. | |

| I think it's about shutting yourself from people and how people are becoming more and more isolated and not interacting with each other. Doing their routines without really questioning what in the hell they are doing it for. | |

| And we're losing all touch, losing all touch Building a desert it seems to me that losing all toach building a desert means we are losing the ablility to be in toach with ourselves and others. And becoming jaded and building and emotion desert. Where everything is dry, and plain. | |
