It's about a scam artist. He is so much into cheating people that he cannot but help scam other people. Somehow he is now feeling some remorse but still cannot stop himself. He is trying to dance and somehow get the remorse out of his head! Well I'm giving myself another one, I have too much to say. -- means he is going for another scam. cuz I got some beans to spill. -- He wants to splill it but knows he cannot. Committing crimes running down the alley. -- well, that explains itself ... Call me crazy but I think that this is the underlying "Dark" meaning of the song.

i like what they said about this song in rolling stone "for six months all we did was get drunk and play dance hall" sounds like a good way to waste half of the year.

Yeah, this is a pretty dance-able song. But there's a really dark undertone and he sings it so agressively......kickass song.

Haha, I never bothered figuring out the other lyrics beside the chorus. It's pretty weird.

It's cocaine...this guy did hella coke. The past doesn't exist because you never regret what's done when you're doing coke. He is definitely not talking about booze and weed. Sorry young 'uns there's a wide world out there and you can either choose to experience all of the highs and lows or else choose to live a healthy normal life. Pills and shots would possibly make him sleep, and kill the time until he could fall asleep. Without those he would just do more coke. The only way to really understand this song is to do coke. You can't understand drugs without binging. It's a fact. "a little repetitive"? Yes, just like the lifestyle. It's circular and it never goes anywhere. But it's damn fun while youre doing it.
