| Another one of Isaac's "the grass is always greener on the other side" songs. But very amusing in how bluntly he puts it: "other people's lives seem more interestin' cause they ain't mine." | |

| this is a song about the mistakes young people make (impulsiveness, drinking, relationships) and the lonliness they often feel as a result of their mistakes. it's about taking things for granted, about how short term plans that seem like the answer to all our problems often just cause us to end up feeling stupid and cause further setbacks. but since nobody ever listens, almost everybody does some really dumb, regrettable stuff between the ages of 18-25 that causes a lot of damage in their lives. people get hurt, they lose relationships, etc. this song is an ode to that. | |

| I can totally relate to this song. I once out of gas in the middle of the night. As I was walking to the gas station, all I kept thinking was that I had to be the dumbest person on the planet, and all these people driving by with gas in the tank had a better life than me. So I would guess it's about the the worthless thoughts that cross your mind after you do something that you should have known better not to. | |

| To fell restless and discontent with you situation; get in the car with no plans and head out, find yourself fucked (not too smart). Dissatified with your life, and looking at other's lives and thinking they have it better than you. I ran out of gas before with a ton of dope on me, and I was finally glad to see a cop to take me to get gas. I agree with Epitaph, this song jams at the end and is just awesome, the music dominates this song. Fuck Bonaroo, but MM jams with punk style! | |

| I figure this song is about isolation. Personally, I enjoy being by myself sometimes. I always feel depressed when I am by myself, but I like that sometimes. I think this song is about that desolate feeling when you're by yourself. Hell, even a cop makes for good company he's so alone. Before the cop, however, a guy (he's 25) shows up and could offer help, but the narrator just makes fun of him, calling him a mommas boy and all. The idea that he's "out of gas, etc" but wont look to others for help shows how helpless the situation is. He has nothing going for him, so other people have more interesting lives. My favorite part about this song though is the music! | |

| "he went down to Thailand, and he did the did the deed oh yeah, he did it for the boys" For some reason when I hear that line it makes me think of a transgender person getting a sex change. People usually go to Thailand to get one, plus it says he did it for the boys. Idk, it amuses me. Good song. | |

| Man, I'm surprised there aren't more comments on this song. I love the lines about the momma's boy. It's a great end to the album, with Isaac mumbling and the guitars going in the background along with all the other background noises. It really sums up the whole wide-open feel of the album to me. I love this and the song right before it, Positive/Negative they just fit in so well. | |

| fuckin hell....this song is to good. well the lyrics are some of Isaac's are simplest. 'other people's lives seem more interesting cuz they aint mine' not very cryptic...i think the rest of the lyrics are mainly narratives of situations that reflect the above quote. its a sort of 'we all live boring lives. we barely interact properly. things arnt so innocent, everything is sinister' the story he tells seems to be a recuring one...it seems to be mentioned in Out of Gas, Drammamine, Karma Payment....maybe more. | |
