Lyrics-

Ice age heat wave can't complain
if the world's at large why should i remain
walked away to another plan
gonna find another place maybe one i can stand
i move on to another day
to a whole new town with a whole new way
Went to the porch to have a thought
got to the door and again i couldn't stop
you don't know where and you don't know when
but you still got your words and you got your friends
walkin' on to another day
work a little harder work another way
Well uh-uh (

Wow, what an introduction to a CD. Apart from the Horn Intro I fell for this song while listening to it in the music store. Such a lovely song.

I love this song. It kinda reminds me of the Great Gatsby....about drifting from place to place searching for something unobtainable. Everyone can relate to this song and he puts it in such a beautiful way. "The days get longer and the nights smell green" I also like how the end of this song, jst kinda melts into "Float On".

I think the song is talking about how he is just a man trying to do something and he's never very sucessful. But he just keeps on going and noone nows why

this song relates to me because it feels like no matter what i do im never happy like ive done many drugs in my life time and when he says "I like songs about drifter-books about the same. They both seem to make me feel a little less insane" it hits me real hard because i can relate to these so called drifters and hopefully ill float on to somwhere beutiful somday as well as the guys from modest mouse
