Sleepwalking By: Modest Mouse
Tab By: Song Wi - song@txgsm.com
Hey, this is my first attempt at writing tabs so cut me some slack. These are
basically the positions and chords. Listen to the song to get the rhythm.

There are other parts that you can play together but this should get you
started. Both of these parts can be played together if you have two guitarists.
Good luck! Modest Mouse Rules! Can't wait to see them again.

i think this song is about (can be about. whatever floats your boat,) doing through life without really opening your eyes. just doing eveything whithout thinking too hard. i guess this doesnt really apply so well the the first verse, but i feel like there's a lot more emphesis on the sleep walking bit of it. i like this song because I /everone can relate.

I think I remember reading that the woman who sings on all those tracks was Calvin Johnson's wife or girlfriend.

i think this song might be about teen years in summer, sure, but its also about that surreal feeling, how everything seems to be passing you by, and how you can either really love or hate every moment. i dont think i'm making sense...

like a few others said, i think this a song about being a teenager in love. And just teenage life in general. It's a beautiful song, and i love the 50s guitar sound. Listen to the Santos and Johnny song "Sleepwalk" That's where they got the beat from, and the guitars on it are amazing. Issac and the girl's voice blend wonderfully together... so pretty. Such a great song.

One time a boy played this for me, while looking deeply into my eyes. Let's just say he was the world's best sweet talker. And when I say best, I mean best. If only there were guys that said things like he did and ment it.

This song is about being intoxicated. Whatever the person may do, he blames it on "sleep walking"--probably a reference to being in a happy drunken mood.

This song is really beautiful. Very different compared to other stuff by modest mouse. But still amazing...the girl (whoever she is) has a really pretty voice and it works so well with Isaac's.

his girlfriend?? a girl sung with him in Lounge (Closing Time) from their lonesome crowded west album and she also made a slight appearance in "She Atomizes and Ionizes" from their Long Drive album so i just figured it was someone close to them so maybe it was Isaac's girlfriend? i dunno, good song though. not like modest mouse musically but lyrically it hits the spot!

i think its lifted from the ventures song. another weird nod to surf rock. maybe thats not as obvious as it seems, (i mean its called sleepwalkking.) i agree with robot house. i think its a straight ahead narrative. sneaking out late to meet a girl-go party and just live a little. it reflects the kind of home he might have been from its not a song of rebellion and sneaking out and being that way-rather he just wanders to find her. i love it. when are they going to put out another record?
