| to me it seems to be about someone with a seriuos problem (probalby drug abuse judging by the line "without medicine i can't pretend") that is very close to a member of the band.most of the song seems to be from the perspective of the band member recounting what his friend says to him, that everything is "A-OK." | |

| When i first heard this song it jumped out at me especially with the lyric "Without medicine i can't pretend, it never ends." I have experience with many friends the up and downs, and downright negative effects of anti-depressants. I think this is what MCS is trying to grasp from this song. It always easier to say you're fine without admitting any underlying problems. Keeping up appearances to the happy smiley world is always the hardest thing to do. | |

| I think this song is about someone who has problems or maybe isn't as confident, as he wants people to think he is. So he says everything is A-Ok, but really his world is crumbling. And he talks big, but thats all it is :: talk. | |

| When he sings "Someday you'll understand that everything is AOK" it sounds like he's smiling. But like, faking a smile because he's trying to convince someone he's OK. Has anyone noticed that? I always thought it sounded a little odd but then I realized maybe he was smiling. But yeah, I LOVE this song but i really can't listen to it without wanting to cry. Justin uses his voice so well in this. | |

| I LOVE this song... This song is so relateable... americanmusic's reference to him smiling could have to do with the theme more...it sounded fake because it probably was... When you have problems and you're sad, it's so easy just to lie and hide behind a smile and a laugh. Eventually, hopefully, the person will realize that everything isn't AOK...but, for that feeling, this song is awesome..or any feeling...it's just a good song, whatever the lyrics happen to mean | |

| It's just talking about how some people hide, saying they're "ok" when they're not...It's easier to say everything's fine when you really are hurting...That's the truth tho for most things | |

| It's like someone denying the obvious, only for it to be really aok. They've learned to cope with their situation, and now you have to. | |

| This song has that bitter, end-of-summer feel to it and every time I hear it it just hits me in the gut. Especially that part where he sings "I am the reason". At least, that's how it is for me. | |

| It's easier to say "I'm fine" than to admit that you're not, and have to deal with the real underlying issues in your life. So you hide behind those words, and the problems just get worse and worse, and you keep pretending everything will be OK. | |
