I love this song... "I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous Like cleaning the oven or checking my tires Or counting the number of tiles in the ceiling Head for the hills, the kitchen's on fire!" are such a great few lines!

GEEEZ I have to correct EVERYTHING: "Give me a reason (I dont beleive a word.) To end this discussion (Of anything I've heard.) To break with tradition (They tell me that it's not so hard.) To FOLD and DIVIDE (It's not so hard.) Let's not get carried (Away with everything.) Away with the process (FROM HERE TO IN-BETWEEN.) Of elimination the long goodbye. I don't want to waste your time. Alright. Hi, everything's great. Hey, everything's fine." Skraight from the cd jacket bitches.

I always thought this song was about ADD/ADHD. The song relates to me so much (besides for relying on "self-medication")... and I just think the qualities in this song are like an ADD person. "I'm through with these pills that make me sit still" This is a symptom of ADHD, that can be treated with pills. " 'Are you feeling fine?' Yes, I feel just fine! " OR " 'Tell me that you're alright' Yeah, everything is alright " People always ask someone with ADD is they're okay, because they seem like they don't have everything together. That's just my opinion of it. I might be wrong, but that's definitely how I see this song.

I always thought this song was about anxiety or depression. I think it can be related to a number of different thinks, but I think it's mostly about anxiety because of these lines: "I'm through with these pills that make me sit still" and "I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous " and he's basically saying in the song that he's fine now. :) Really catchy song. I love it.

I agree with everyone who says anxiety/depression. I have GAD and clinical depression and this song is me all over. "Tell me that you're all right" = what people say to you, and usually you just say you're fine because there's no use explaining. Nervous habits, paranoia, drinking and drugs to make yourself feel better, thinking that someday you'll be just fine...

when he say's 'I used to rely on self-medication I guess I still do that from time to time But I'm getting better at fighting the future Someday you'll be fine Yes, I'll be just fine ' he mean's he's using some form of self mutilation, like cutting, because cutting has been said to be a form of 'self-medication'...and when he sayd' but im getting better at fighting the future' he's getting better at trying to supress all the problems that he has to face with getting older, ignoring them.

Actually. It's about ADHD... and obsessive compulsive disorder.. Hence the talk about cleaning the oven and counting the tiles on the ceiling. As a person with obsessive compulsive disorder and ADHD I know exactly what he means. Specially with the self-medicating part. :P You have to take a bunch of pills, and if you can control it, it's better without the pills.

I'm through with these pills that make me sit still I used to rely on self-medication I guess I still do that from time to time But I'm getting better at fighting the future i think this song is about over coming a problem with drugs. He talks abut pills and "being alright" now constantly

I think this song is about doing psychadelic drugs... its pretty simple... look at all the psychadelics in the video and everyone thinks he needs help but he is "just fine." thats what I say when I do a psychadelic and someone tries to speak to me... and also its prolly about overcoming them cuz I want to stop to but its just so much fun... haha

I think you guys might be running away with the drug stuff, but you know.. Maybe not. I think the song is about getting over someone he likes, and he's sick of the "traditional" way of getting over it. He doesn't want to wait around for the "we're over let's be friends" speech, because all it's doing is making him perform the same silly habits and feel ridiculous. I think he's saying he doesn't want to take his pills, he doesn't want to do these things because he so badly just wants a change, and wants it to be over. Tell me you're alright, so we can get this bull over with, I'll be alright to.. Let's just end it.

Hm. I always thought this song was about depression - and having to take pills to be happy. And always having to tell people that you're "all right" or "fine".
