Justin said it's about him and his friends. It's like, Make Out Kids is when they were younger; this song is about when they got older.

I think it's about a little brother... not a son. "do you still believe in the stories told to you by my friends and i when you were four years old" Not something you would do to your son it seems.

Like I said, a response to "A-OK" (which was written about his dad, presumably from Justin's perspective). I'd like to go deeper with this, but honestly, the growth lyrically from that song to this one almost makes it impossible. There's not a whole lot to say about A-OK other than the fact that Justin wrote it to tell his dad that, ultimately, he's fine.

"I was nervous from the start That our muscles might tear us apart (Are muscles tearing us apart?) From the words that carve our lives To the words that take us by surprise (I was never taken by surprise) From the sounds that disappear To the changes we'd begin to fear (I can hear you clearly) One day i'll fail to breathe And all you'll have are memories (All we are are memories)..." ^ This whole part is simply beautiful, especially the drum part, it just gives me the chills everytime i listen to it... deep lyrics too lol @ the 2x "are" in "All we ARE ARE memories..."

Oh yeah, I wanted to say that the end of this song is so amazing. The drums are just incredible. I love mcs lyrics so much they're adorable and just plain GOOD. even out of context. they're great to quote. "One day I'll fail to breathe and all you'll have are memories. All we are are memories."

It's: "How it got so cold, that words just froze. We had to wait 'til summer to find out what was said one of the best times that we had"
