To me this song is about religion, (christianity) about a person who has been taught a certain belief system and finds that his/her "reality" is a lie, but then it goes beyond that and he/she starts to question everything they know and it's like a black veil has been lifted off this person's eyes, and while this person is on a journey to discover the truth he/she finds that there is no one and only truth.

This song is so simple in its meaning but yet everyone can't see it. In my opinion this song is about being born into a world and feeling like you dont belong. Feeling like an outcast. Everyone is born equal and of the 'light'. Everyone is good but somehow we are betrayed by someones lies and are left out in the cold forced to "walk between the rain". Maybe everyone(outcats) were just misguided and people dont see the TRUTH about them. That they are just the same as everyone else, born into a world like eveyrone else, and yet for some reason no one wanted them "never asked to be there"

Truth- "To tell the higher form of a Truth to one who cannot understand it is to lie to him because, though correctly formulated, it will not be correctly recieved." Daath is hebrew for "Knowledge"

I take every song personally. Expecially this one, because a couple years ago I found out some things about my parents that turned my whole world upside down and made me realize a lot of things I thought I knew were lies. This song describes my feelings during that time perfectly, and when he says "truth does not exist, but the lies do", he's saying (to me, anyway), "maybe you'll never know the truth, but the lies are still there." This song is what I want to scream at my parents.

I disagree with Chino69 - Darkness is what's there when light isn't. KAISERSWAYZE is the only one who has come close to an accurate interpretation, but the good thing about the best songs is that they can be taken on any level, and still be laden with meaning.
