| This song is about child abuse, child neglect and child abandonment. "Outgrown the cradle that once housed me And I've found that all I need is ME" | |

| i agree with all you guys. i knew from the start that it was about a traumatic childhood that lead to his lack in belief of a higher power. i dont blame him, i know how it feels. certain experiences cause dramatic changes in ones perception of life and the afterlife... | |

| Losing everything that has ever meant anything to you then losing faith in the process then becoming the only thing you have which is yourself. | |

| I think that this song was written about how Chad's father was abusive to him during his youth. And how it still affects him to this day and that he probably can't ever release those memories of it. Also his resentment towards him father because of those acts to him. That is what I and my freinds have taken out of this. | |

| I dont know "Here I stand now and I'm alone, With no one to comfort me. One set of footprints in the sand. No one to take my hand, " That sounds like a direct reference to a poem I once heard, "Footprints in the sand" which is about God, so add that one up. and I know Kud said this and that, but just trying ot figure it out. OH the poem link is http://freebiesandstuff.freeyellow.com/christmas/footprints.html | |

| The song kicks ass, everyone else has seemed to covered what it means on here already, no sense in reapeating what has been said a few times already | |

| As A child, he obviously did not have a good childhood. It looks as if his parents were abusive andor not carring towards him. He wrote this song to show his parents how he felt that he has pushed them out of his life. | |

| This song is like my effin anthem. My mom died, my dad didn't give a shit, I've been depressed. Great lyrics and great bass playing make this a great song. | |
