| I believe this song is about the world leaders at the moment and the decisions they are making. For example, the line "Proclaim eternal victory" would be in relation to the leaders thoughts that winning a war is a victory! Winning a war is NOT a victory, it is just an ending of something tragic! If these world leaders keep seeing winning wars as "victories" then we are all screwed! Muse sarcastically asks for "Apocalypse Please?" This asks the question of whether the world leaders actually wish for the world to end, because the way they keep going about things it looks like the end is not far off! | |

| I think it's about people being scared of change, and love every thing the way it is. They love they're petrol powered cars, they're tv's, computers. We're living in our own little comforted world, and the cost of reality. I don't exactly what Matt is trying to say, but it seems like he wants these things to change, when you think about it, he's quite a cynical person. All three albums (not including hullabaloo) seem to show his cynisism in one way or another. | |
