| Such a wonderful song. I don't know what this song means. To me personally its about 2 lovers one older and one younger (too old to dream, too young to care) who's relationship is about to end or has ended. | |

| Blackout is one of those songs that is only really embraced live. The album version sometimes gets a bit boring.. but live.. wow. This is probably their biggest "lighter" song. It's so simple yet.. effective. When Matt Bellamy (the frontman) turns up his distortion for the solo live, it sounds so much like an air raid siren, which would fit in with Blackout.. kind of like in Britain during air raids in WW2.. Even though the songs nothing to do with that, it just sounds so beautiful.. I've never actually been there and heard it live.. If I was in a live audience when that was played, I would probably cry. Matt Bellamy said this song came around after his Italian girlfriend's ex-boyfriend died in a car crash. It's about fear of death at a young age and the energy and motivation you can put out of that. :) Basically, it's like Butterflies and Hurricanes but less forceful. Enjoy and make the most of the time you have, because you'll never know how long you have left, and you need to live fast, but take time to see everything around you as well. | |

| Hmm, i have to agree with smashing me.. My ex did the whole gondola thing, and it really fits.... But i also think this song is about a person who is in love, and it makes them feel amazing.. and they think that the feelings they feel are too good to last. | |
