	the endless scratching at the back of your mind when your keeping something from someone. like say you cheated on your girlfriend and you wanted to tell her, but she's so happy when she's around you and she's so fragile that you know it would kill her, but you feel so guilty you can't carry on.

	i dont really listen to the lyrics, but the music gives me thes images of empty city, with huge scyscrapers and the blistering heat is so dry it chokes

	i'm not sure what this song means, but it has the most powerful chorus i've ever heard, the guitar work and the melody is really the best i've heard. and the solo...omg, don't get me started on the solo. when matt uses the whammy pedal and slides on the guitar. sends shivers down my spine. best muse song ever.

	I think that it is about wanting to dissappear. Like he has done something wrong or he is just generally fed up with the world and he is remembering his childhood (like someone else has said!) when he "usd to be so free". I thought this because of the last few lines "wash me away, clean your body of me....." and the title. Because erased, well, we all know what the words "citizen" and "erased" mean! I don't think this is necessariliy about anyone in the band though, it could just be this really emotioal song that they came up with when they had a good idea!
