its about God. hints: "too old to feel an earthquake, too cool to even care. but you aren't even listening, so why should I?" these deal with Matt's disbelief and near anger in how he should be expected to listen to a God who doesnt seem to hear any of his prayers or his cries. "like a broken dam your empty, and all thats left are the sticks and the stones that were built by other people" this is in reference to what society has made God into. To him, he must seem broken and empty. society has made God out to be glorious, but he just doesnt see it, he sees everyone elses delusions about HIM.

Yeah, I'd agree with theoracle, he's using words that could relate to him singing about god, but it's directed towards a person.
