My friend and I were discussing this song over a few beers early this morning. The piano, the bass, the soaring vocals, to both he and I, this song just screams sex. Its lusty, its driven, it's sexual music. Thats what it means to me.

i particularly love the piano bit at the start....i think he's infatuated with someone, but he hates to feel like he does...."you make me sick, because i adore you so.."

It is a love song- a love-hate relationship. The way its structured is so clever too. It reminds me so much of a couple i know! When he's not with the person he loves, he kind of loves her in an angry way, "i love all the dirty tricks" or "i cut your name in my heart" Thats the kind of angry feeling when u know you shouldnt still be with them, but u cant help it. But when it gets to the chorus, the tone changes and goes all pretty and high pitched. Its like he looks at the person and feels all happy again "space dementia in your eyes, and peace will arise" Its the cycle of love hate starting all over again. Dammit ther so clever! i love the bit after the first chorus leading into the second verse...it gives me chills its so powerful, my favourite bit of the whole album. this is my favourite song on the album too its ace.

This song is about all the mushrooms that messed up boy of a singer Mr. Bellamy yammes when he is writing all his stuff. "You make me sick" but he loves the feeling so much he will take this "Pain" to see all the "Dirty tricks and twisted games" they play with his subconcious. Or mabye i'm wrong.

The first time i heard this, as with all Muse songs, i though 'what a great fucking song!!'. They're all soo powerful.. though this one sounds almost as if its based on Arrival of the Queen of Sheba .. :s

i think it's about admiration of a certain person, so much so that he would gladly do anything for him/her: "i cut your namein my heart" an emotional statement. probably :-p

Space dementia is a term Nasa use to describe what some astronaughts experiance when theyre in space, looking at all the planets and feeling insignificant. I think that Matt is trying to say that that is the feeling he gets when he looks at the person he is singing about. He is in awe of them, I wouldnt call it love as such but he extremely admires and respects them in a way he cant explain.......I think :)

I'm sure this song is about a person he loves so much.. It's a really strong song, because there are a lot of emotions in, especially the "you make me sick because i adore you so" and "i love all your dirty tricks" show his love for someone. my english isn't very well because i'm dutch sorry :)

i have been told, and i think also, that the song could be about drugs. "you make me sick because i adore you so" - this is the feeling that drugs leaves on a drug user and that he/she is addicted to the drugs. "i love all the dirty tricks" - this could be referring to the hallucations that a drug user has when they take the drugs. "and twisted games you play on me" - again this refers to the hallucations that the drug user is having. that is only a small part of the song that could be related to drugs though, but it is a strong point of view.

could be about the whole war or dicator (like hitar) thing. while he is at war and on top of the world he feels great and would do anything (they all would) for their dictator. But when the war is over the relationship will be meaningless and the glory will be gone. Just a little insignificant suggestion . lol :)
