| Ghost, you're close...but it IS IN FACT russian and the voice is that of Skinny, the drummer's, wife. I played it backwards....and all I can hear...is backwards russian. But the most interesting this is that the music, when played backwards...sounds alot the music to 2nd Thoughts, from the Self Titled CD, being played normaly. I'll venture to even say, that Bwomp is 2nd Thoughts backwards! Now that I've proclaimed myself insane, I'll careen off in to my maddness and the night :) | |

| Alright.. here's my view on Mushroomhead.. not just this song. I haven't been listening to them for all too long, but for about the past year they have been my musical obsession... nearly all I listen to. From what I can tell, at the beginning they're actually saying "pray for me, I'll bleed for you" and since I've seen nothing about it on the actual mushroomhead official sites/lyrics, I'm not going to be persuaded otherwise. It seems to me that everyone thinks Mushroomhead laughs at the idea of religion (and well.. they do state it in Bwomp, I think there's a little more to it than that). After looking at a few of the songs that mention religion, it seems to me that he/they don't think it's stupid-- just have no reason to believe, though they really would like to have something to believe in, for whatever reason.. Becoming Cold: "Save your faith for the faithless, we need it most. Need something to believe in, but nothing comes close" The New Cult King: search for signs to light the path show me the way savior send a glimpse to glance and renew my faith emerald meets the oceans blue in a shade of grey the general knows not what to do as tears run down her face nails through hands and feet on this cedar grave atone for sin can this be can my soul be saved all alone I think too much need to believe in something real don't need this crutch because it just deceives ------ The way I see it.. He WANTS to believe, but can't find it in himself to do so. This goes back to my ideas about the beginning of bwomp. He wants someone ELSE to pray for him, because he cannot pray for himself, and in return for the prayer, his own blood... a sacrifice of sort, like saying "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" Look at "laughed at religion long ago, doubt I'll be an angel when I die"... if someone was a firm believer in nothing, as most people probably think of Mushroomhead.. he would say I won't, I will not.. not I doubt I will. Plus I think mushroomhead puts a little too much into their music to simply bash on religion without a purpose. Maybe I'm dumb, but I hope you can all see where I'm going with this. | |
