Sometimes - My Bloody Valentine
[D] Close my eye
[F#m7] Feel me now
[Bm7] I don't know, will you
[G] could not love me now
[F#] You will know, that I feel
[E] tied to the ground
[D] Over there, and I
[E] learned through life to love
[D] You can hide,
[F#m7] opened eyed
[Bm7] or the way I dream.
[D]
[D] Turn my head
[F#m7] into sound
[Bm7] I don't know but I
[G] laid down on the ground
[F#] You will find your
[E] hand held hurts to love
[D] Never cared, and your
[E] world turned hearts to love
[D] You will sleep,
[F#m7] open eyed on the
[Bm7] way I dream
[D]
[D] You will wait
[F#m7] See me go
[Bm7] I don't care, I knew
[G] her type all along
[F#] You will wait, and I
[E] turn my eyes around
[D] Hold my head and I
[E] hold you next to me.
[D] Hold your hand
[F#m7] to my eyes on the
[Bm7] way I sleep.
[D]
[D] Close my eyes.
[F#m7] Feel me high
[Bm7] I don't know, but you
[G] could not love me now.
[F#] You and I, and I
[E] feel down too
[D] Over there, and I learned
[E] true love from you.
[D] You can hide,
[F#m7] opened eyed, or
[Bm7] the way I dream.
[D] You will sleep
[F#m7] opened eyed, on the way
[Bm7] I dream.
[D]-[F#m7]-[Bm7]-[G]-[F#]-[E]-[D]-[E]
[D]-[F#m7]-[Bm7]
[D]-[F#m7]-[Bm7]-[G]-[F#]-[E]-[D]-[E]
[D]-[F#m7]-[Bm7]

| One of my favorite songs. My Bloody Valentine pioneered dream-pop (also known as shoe-gazing), and this is one of the best examples of the genre. Btw - regarding Coppola's use of it in 'Lost in Translation' - Kevin Shields, the leader singer and genius behind My Bloody Valentine, did the wonderful score for Lost in Translation. | |

| I don't know the true lyrics, but this is what I hear: Close my eyes Feel me now I don't know how you could not love me now You will know, with her feet down to the ground Over there, and I want true love to grow You can't hide, oh no, from the way I feel Turn my head Into sound I don't know when I lay down on the ground You will find the way turn hearts to love Never cared, and the world turned hearts to love We will see, oh now, in a day or two You will wait See me go I don't care, when you're head turned all around You will wait, when I turn my eyes around Overhead when I hold you next to me Overhead, to know the way I see Close my eyes Feel me now I don't know, maybe you could not love me now Here alone, and I feel down too Over there, and I wait true love for you You can hide, oh now, the way I do You can see, oh now, oh the way I do This is a song about a guy who wants this girl. But the girl doesn't love him("how you could not love me now "). She doesn't dream about him like he does("with her feet down to the ground over there"). He then says how quickly you fall in love("You will find the way turn hearts to love"), then when she least expect it. She would fall in love with him("Never cared, and the world turned hearts to love "). She would hold all her feelings. Without saying a word. So, he is about to depart("See me go "). And when he is about to leave, she would see him("when you're head turned turns all around you will wait"), and he would see her, and then they would finally be together("when I turn my eyes around overhead, when I hold you next to me"), and then she would finally know how much they love each other, and how they are meant to each other. But nothing like that happens. He still loves her, but she doesn't, and he accepts it("maybe you could not love me now "). So now he hopes for her to find true love("and I wait true love for you") I just love that song. | |

| The first verse just has to be wrong. i'm getting something like: Close my eyes Feel me now I don't know how you could not love me now You will know, and i feel it down to the core. (NO IDEA) You can't hide, oh no, from the way I feel Give it a listen. i really think my fourth line is a lot closer than the feet thing | |

Well, off the Loveless record, that is haha. | |

| 'Close my eyes, Feel me now, I don't know how you could not love me now' - I immediately fell for this song when I heard these first few lines. I still think the song lyrics are very cryptic nevertheless; afterall, you can barely discern what he's trying to say at some points of the song. I'm sure it's the melody driven by Shields' vocals that drives the song, apart from the thick heavy distortion in the background. Someone once commented that listening to this song was like "being bathed in golden lights" and it just feels like that. You can't help but feel the song flowing through you. And I agree, Coppola was a genius in using this song . 'Sometimes' always brings up such vivid imagery of the Scarlett Johansson (:P) and Tokyo at night. Gorgeous visuals. I believe the song can't be listened to; it has to be felt - as corny as it sounds. | |

| I think previous posts have nailed the meaning of the lyrics perfectly. This is the perfect "relationship gone horribly wrong" song. The lyrics and the music are absolutely gorgeous and still manages to invoke a flood of emotions even after the billionth time I've played it. Time to go watch LIT again... | |
