ok this is what i get from this song.... he starts out describing a trip to a mall with his girlfriend and he notices all the beautiful things and how his girlfriend just makes it so much better "icing on the cake" if you will... but he uses the living as a metaphor for a vampire, "i never thought they'd get me here.....not knowing you'd change from just one bite...i fought them all off just to hold you close and tight"......at the mall we all know there is other guys and plenty of things that can happen to get into your girfriends head to make her feel "tided down" or something of that nature...... but to me guys start messing with her and "bite" her and unsuccessfully he fights them off to try and keep her..... the guys got to her and he knows he must break up with her(But does anyone notice? But does anyone care? And if I had the guts to put this to your head And would anything matter if you're already dead? And now should I be shocked by the last thing you said? Before I pull this trigger Your eyes vacant and stained And in saying you loved me Made things harder at best And these words chaning nothing As your body remains And there's no room in this hell There's no room in the next And our memories deafeat us And I'll end this direst) all this is saying is that she has betrayed him and that he knows what he must do.....the corpse in the bed-he knows that since the mall trip she's been almost dead to him...she's not his anymore, she was biten and changed. and i know that this comes from the movie

This song has been the reason why I got through parting with my best friend..I'd feel like crying, and then i'd come home, turn it on and I'd lay on my bed and let everything slip away..and it was good. I dont know, sounds pretty childish but it was a cop-out..It kinda makes me feel numb, but at the same time happy (dont ask why) so ya.. this song means a lot to me and i cannot wait to see my chemical romance in february and on the warped tour.

This song has references to the movie "Dawn of The Dead". The end lyrics were apparently improv'd by Gerard, and it was his decision to leave them out of the booklet

Ah, that clarifies things. I just watched the new Dawn of the Dead, and wasn't sure which it was about. I'll hunt down a copy of Romero's dotd. Beautiful song.
