I think it's definitely about religion. Blind faith perhaps?

holy hell i love this song. it has religious elements, and yes i kinda agree that it may have something to do with blind faith - its promises, pitfalls, dangers and such

About persons love. If you ask me i think its about climping a mountain. And afcourse theres much bigger meaning in the song like my dying bride always does in all the songs.

Good song, most likely about blind faith.

"Okay we're going to play for you a brand new song, this is going to be on the new album. This is 'A Cruel Taste of Winter'." ----- Aaron Stainthrope before they played the song on The Voice of the Wretched.
