SOLO

For this part, I have decided to just write the two digit number as they
are except for in the third bars of the next two segments...you will
notice ! still = 10. 10 is written normally everywhere else. It looks
messy but the second digits of the two digit numbers line up w/ the
single digit numbers

yea this song is sweet, probably one of the best on high/low. im not exactly sure of meaning either but ill take a guess..... The term "Stalemate" usually gives the sense of a deadlock or uncertainty. He basically feels 'stuck' which is also shown through his references to jail. He feels caged in this sense and realizes it is not a good thing (ie. "not safe in a jail"). I think the song is about how he is not fully living his life. He is a "nervous watcher" and always has to see others enjoying the world while he is caged. Throughout the song he says "when do i jump out of the cake" and its easy to feel a sense of a birthday party. He wants to yell out and scream "surprise" and feel the adrenaline and emotions of the world. However, there is something in him that holds him back and he is struggling to overcome these feeling and has trouble escaping from his cell.

I agree with battleofny, but I'd also like to add that he may be talking to someone he's in a relationship with, that he wants to break or at least change and he won't dare to do so. Just a thought.
