| this song is just moving and inspiring... i just got into a huge fight with someone and then i heard this song for the frist time so i think it's a sign... the best line of the entire song is "always love, hate will get you every time always love, even when you wanna fight" cuz how many times have you done something irrational just cuz you were pissed off and ready to fight the person ? even the way he sings the "always love..." parts is so haunting god i love this song | |

| by sheslikeohsoemo on 04-18-2006 @ 10:49:25 PM no, I believe the song means: don't dwell on hating someone because they brought you pain, but love them because it's difficult yet simple to get over it instead of making a mountain out of life. | |

| No matter how much someone hurts you, don't hold it against them forever, lifes too short! Don't live life thinking about what could have been, make it happen! Dont live your life with regrets and thinking "what if". | |

| this is one of the few songs ever invented that makes me feel something... i don't know what i can't explain it. wow i suck. it's so beautiful. and so true. hating someone is so hard. it's hard to love people who hurt you, but i feel worse when i hate. i don't know what i'm trying to say. so i'm just gonna stop typing. ;( | |

| :/ i disagree with this song. sometimes it's better to hate someone than get hurt by loving them. but still a good song. | |

| zephirum, if i may expand a bit on your comment... I agree with the sentiment of the song carrying the feeling of certainly not dwelling upon hating anyone or thing; but I also do believe the greater message of the song is to "always love" yourself, first and foremost. 'slow demands' being life's trials and tribulations that always occur or 'come around', whilst 'it helps to write it down' could very well relate to the idea of expressing ones feelings in words in order to find some kind of release (and hopefully a sort of spiritual healing). either way, i think the truth in the matter is that, in the long run to life--there's really no point in harboring negativity indefinitely. the song expresses the acknowledgement that we are but human, and we're going to feel down and out at times; but to also try to surmount those feelings in hopes of improving ourselves or to 'aim so high above' our lives and feelings. do what you have to do to get over feeling 'hate'--and move on. life's too short (or too long, depending how you're feeling at the given moment). always love. :) ps. amazing band..please come to florida one of these days guys. | |

| To me, "it helps to write it down even when you then cross it out" means its better to regret something you've done than something you haven't even if after it's done, you wish it hadn't happened, it happened for a reason... | |
