| grind core is not at all punk most its more a black metal death metal thing and for the most part is satanic or gory some grind core bands are anal cunt carcass godflesh bolt thrower backyard burrials Gore Beyond Necropsy Cattle Decapitation Axis to perdition and of corse napalm death so if you wer to look into this stuff you would see that its not punk at all and its mainly death metal with no molody at all and throbbing gristle is not at all punk and is industreal | |

| yeah, the OLD napalm death had punk roots, with Nick Bullen being inspired by throbbing gristle and Crass and other crappy punk bands. But now, there is no punk left in Napalm Death, apart from their whole "fuck politics" attitude. | |

| Ummmm Razormasticator..... throbbing gristle IS NOT PUNK AT ALL its industreal not 1% of it is punk. And grindcore is not punk its taking death metal one step further usaly resulting in total loss of any melody sound and ends up being just a sound chaos, not always bad its best to listen to while totaly pissed off. | |

| when DK wrote their awesome hardcore punk original, they were foaming at the mouth with rage against the newly-elected reagan (see "the real nazis run your schools"), however, when napalm death did their stunning metal version they would have been directing that particular line against the true leader of the "fourth reich", i.e. our beloved maggie thatcher. don't even get me started on the mess that worthless piece of tory shit left this country in, or else i might turn into an angry young man like barney greenway here. as much as DK's version rocks, i really prefer ND's version cos the gods of grindcore are closer to home (well, birmingham's not that close to london but anyhoo...), and besides, the version I've got ends with some random welsh bloke describing his love of extreme metal. its a bit like "will", the czech dude from the dn of "the great capitulator". | |

| Godflesh is industrial. And i can't believe you put together a grindcore list and left out Nasum. One thing you guys are right about though, grindcore really is the only kind of music still keeping the punk spirit alive. Its a shame that punk has devolved into fucking Simple Plan. Not a big grindcore fan myself (except for Nasum) but i gotta salute the bands that are still keeping that big FUCK YOU alive. I still prefer the Dead Kennedys version of this, but then i prefer the Dead Kennedys version of every damn thing, so that's not saying much. | |
