Yeah, i'm a Green Day nut and there's no doubt in my mind that this is Billie Joe, and The Network is Green Day and possibly Devo, but i havn't really heard any Devo so i can't judge whether the voice in other Network songs is the Devo guy. Saying i'm a Green Day nut though, i heard this song before i even knew about The Network/Green Day thing and thought it was awesomeness imbodied. I also thought then that it sounded a lot like Billie Joe but was kind of "no way.....nah, they must just come from the same area or something." I only just noticed....it is kinda the American Idiot story, innit? Ha! wow.

"heh this song is basically American Idiot in a nutshell" You're absolutely right. I've never really thought about that before, but it is. Wow.

good lord. GREEN DAY ARE IN THE NETWORK. yes. they are. lets stop discussing it. on with the song. i think its about how kids think theyll move out and live rough and think it really cool, but in reality you should be grateful for what youve got because youll end up using your parents again

Haha. This song is awesome. Yeah i'm not really sure if The Network contains Green day members or not tho. I think the lead, Fink, sounds a little like Billie Joe. either way, the network are cool!

Billie Joe is Fink, Mike is Van Gough, Tre is The Snoo, and no one is sure quite yet who the other two are though. Some say Devo members, but I say it's Jason White (their 2nd guitarist that tours with them) and Jason Freese (their trumpet player that tours with them). I've seen a lot more pictures and it does seem to look like the Jasons more and more. But anyway, this song is pretty easy to understand: a kid moves away from this family, tries to live on his own, doesn't work out, his girlfriend leaves him, he goes crawling back to his family, and all throughout this he's trying to get some drugs. Quite a funny song.
