I COMPLETELY agree with jayfly07 - I am just getting out of a relationship that sounds a lot like this. I feel that "see you on the other side" is basically telling her to have a good life. I was listening to this song right after we got into a huge fight, and the song just hit me. Not only could I relate to it, but it is and awesome song!! WOW

This is definately my favorite song on the album. My way is a bit more.... emo... or something.... I tried to save us But little did I know You are a speeding train off track With little time to go I tried everything Tried so hard to let you know But now I'm on my last thread Pulling away to no avail I think it's about a guy who's telling about how he was trying to stop his suicidal girlfriend. Yeah Now it's our time Yeah Now it's our time And I'll see you on the other side I think it's about how he wants to be with his gf so he's resorting to suicide too. Beneath all your skin There's another side to you You built up city walls so i never get through The gf has two different sides: one who is his gf obviously and the other that doesn't want him to interfere with her problems. That side keeps on denying his help so he never gets through to her. Why would I take it too far With not thinking about the end at all If a fortune could say what the future will bring Then I'm not convinced It's ending in tragedy And most of all It's in my control To end it all He's saying that why would he stay with her that long without thinking what would happen to her at the end. He had a good fortune finding her (or something) so hes convinced that the saying will become true and it will not end in tragedy because if she dies, he will take his own life too.... or something close to that.... Now it's our time and I'll see you on the other side She finally dies and he dies too and they will see each other in heaven (or where ever they'll go.)

This song i agree is the best song on the album. It speaks to me of my last relationship. For me it's about a guy and a girl, the guy is abviously in love, the girl is in love as well, however she won't listen to her heart. She has blocked him out of her life. She is a bit of a wild girl and doesn't think that being in love is so great, scared of being hurt, scared of relationships. She is on a path of emotional self destruction. I understand every word of this song. It's perfect.

The line 'pulling away to know i'm real' is actually 'pulling away to no avail'. Great song...

I reckon this song is about a doomed relationship. The girl has become distant from him, and the guy is in denial about it all, and is trying to convince himself that the relationship will survive. deep down he knows its a lie, and that it is only inevitable that they wont last. and he knows that he has the power to end the relationship but doesnt. awesome song, NFG have really matured since Nothing Gold Can Stay. NFG kick ass

there are a few typos in these lyrics its pulling away to no avail, beneath all your skin, and you built up city walls, (or atleast my interpretation which i think are correct) however this song is absolutely amazing NFG does it yet again an emo ballad everyone can relate to

I think this song is about one of the band members having a g/f. and the girl holding the band back, until they broke up.
