--------------------------
Am
Am
Trying on a brand new dress
But you haven't worn the old one yet.
F Am
You've come too far, to turn around now.
Giving up the good fight.
You're as strong as anyone.
F
You're back where you started from,
I see you're back where you started from.
Dm,C
(Chorus:)
C Em F
Staring down the stars, jealous of the moon
Dm G
You wish you could fly.
C Em
But you're staying where you are,
F
there's nothing you can do,
Dm G
if you're too scared to try.
-------------------------------
Am
Am
Drag your pretty head around
F
Swearing you're gonna drown with a beautiful sigh and a river of lies.
Dm,C
(Chorus)
E
E Am
Why don't you call me, I could save you.
E F Am
Together we'll find a god we can pray to that will take you by the hand.
Am
I hate to see a friend of mine,
F
Laughing out loud when she's crying inside,
but you've got your pride.
Dm,C
(Chorus)
C Em
You're staring down the stars,
C Em
You stay where you are,
C Em F Dm G
You're jealous of the moon, but there's nothing you can do if you're too scared to try,
Dm G
If you're too scared to try.

Bloody Mess All Musical Thunder |

| I think this song is talking about someone, obviously a female, that tries to go through life too fast, but simuntaneously is trying to move forward, but she's stuck in the same rut. In the intro, he's saying, why are you trying something new when you need to fix something old? She's obviously struggling with a problem, and no one really knows it but him, because she doesn't show it exteriorally. She is jealous of all the things that are there, that just can BE, without question, and she wishes it could just all be as simples as the way nature is... | |

| I do believe this song is about a person who wants to give up on her current lifestyle to try for a new one. The song is saying how she should try instead of walking around feeling sorry for herself. She denies this with her pride. She pretends to be happy but she wants so much more out of life. The narrator can tell the girl is miserable and is "jealous of the moon" and wants to go far in life, but is fearful to and he hates to see the girl suffer, thus he sings this song about this girl. hope that wasn't too confusing. | |
