	i think its about two people in love and theyre perfect for eachoteher both are kind warm and honest. they are in paradise and if everyone did the same as them the world would be a better place

	I think the song can be interpretted as picturing a Utopia. But I don't think that was his intentions. Seems more like he's experiencing the love that reciprocates between him and his g/f. More like a "If love like this can bring peace within me, think what this love between everyone could do? Of course Utopia is farfetched...thats why its called a Utopia. Man chooses sin...but he also chooses love.

	oooooh this song is sooooo wonderful.... :-D i can listen to it over and over again and i won't get bored... sigh i think it is about love and life in general, as it tells just what you fell like when you'e in love, this vison of a perfect world and stuff... of course it's impossible and everything, but it's still a wooooonderful song, and i think a big part of its beauty comes from chad's voice- with someone like james blunt ( i don't wanna insult anyone, just as he and chad have totally different voices- u know what i mean, just in general...) singing it it would seem different, i guess. but it's right, it really touches my feelings whenever i listen to it.... it's sooo beautiful and jsut tells what everyone (secretly) thinks...

	This song reminds me of the nine 11 terrerist attacks on the us. And how i felt that day. "If everyone cared and nobody cried If everyone loved and nobody lied If everyone shared and swallowed their pride We’d see the day when nobody died And I’m singing..." Is like saying if everycared enough like the couple in the song, nobody would of died that day, Its not pointing fingers, it just means that if everybody did therer part and cared. nothing like this will happen angian..

	I'm just going to simply say how it's being addressed that we have too many people in pain and dying out there, and that if everyone cared for one another we'd see a day that nobody died. I must say it's one of my absolute favorite songs to listen to.

	I love this song so much it cind of reminds me of a writing i did when i was in a really depressed mood: Searching for peace What is the difference between wrong and right. It seems the idea of morality has become clouded. No longer do people feel remorse for their actions. We have become desensitized to horrific crimes such as murder. To many people fingers have no other purpose than to pull triggers. And as I walk through this land of bloodshed I ask myself why we did this to ourselves. We live in an age of racism and hatred. When did we decide that hate alone was a just cause for murder? We need to change. People do not value life as they used to. With all this suicide, homicide, and war we are rapidly destroying ourselves, and destroying this world for our youth. The next generation will be the ones who pay for our mistakes. They will be the ones left to clean up our mess. People say that the answer is negotiation, but negotiation leads to misunderstandings; misunderstandings create enemies, and in today’s world, when you have enemies you shoot them. We need to start accepting others ideas, and stop denouncing them just because they are a different color, or have a different opinion than us. I believe that the apocalypse will not be caused by global warming or some other natural phenomenon. It will be caused by us. We are just going to keep killing until there's no one left to kill. we will implode from all the hatred unless we stop all the fighting and killing and start searching for peace. when i heard this song i almost cried because that is how i feel. yes it is impossible because it seems that us as humans find that hate is a just reason to kill. that's what i hate and that's why i'm depressed. I want to cry when i see others in such pain becouse there's no reason for it. A lot of people are just selfish. we underestimate the miracle of life and think it's okay to take it. think about your life. and then picture 6 billion lives just like that. all we do when we kill each other is basicly commit suicide. and it hurts to see such hate

	it makes me feel that its a gift to be alive but it could be betteramen im alive if everyone cared it could still not be perfect people would start to feel they were cared about less by people thn others kind of a sad thing if ya think real deep about how even if somethings perfect human emotions could just destoy it so easily . humans are imperfect so we obviuslt couldnt live in a perfect world

	I have to agree with NickelbackFan (1st commenter). But I never really thought of it as a politcal song at first. But when I think about it, it kinda is. In the begining of the song, he praises his girl, which is confusing, assuming this song is still about politicts. When he goes on to say "Amen I, I'm Alive", I get the feeling that for some reason he should be dead now? That it's only a miracle that of all the people dying in the world, he isn't "it" yet. I'm not sure what he meant by the fireflies analogy. Maybe the "They're only light" part meant that, again, he and her are only one (or I guess you could say two)? My favorite part is his analogy with the stars: ==================================== And as we lie beneath the stars We realize how small we are If they could love like you and me Imagine what the world could be ==================================== He's saying that him and his girl love each other so much, and that if everyone were that way, it would be a pretty d*** close utopia. You notice how he says "If" a lot? He's acknowledging that it would be impossible, and that utopia is only a dream (an impossible one at that). In the end, I actually disagree with what he says ("We’d see the day, we’d see the day When nobody died"). Remember when God made the world, and man, and it was good? Well, didn't man choose to sin? So, even If everyone cared and nobody cried If everyone loved and nobody lied If everyone shared and swallowed their pride , I think there would still be the sin to hold us back. That's only my interpretation. If you think otherwise, feel free to correct me. I'm always open for criticism. :-)

	Definatly some really good lyrics on chad's part. I like how its not so much a slap in the face but more a "this is how it could be"

	The writer has found his true love and is amazed with it. It makes him finally feel alive and he realizes the world around him is filled with people who are hateful, liars, prideful... and dying. In just a few simple lines, we are taken to romantic settings a million miles from others... underneath the trees, the stars... my favorite lines are: And in the air the fireflies Our only light in paradise Instantly takes me away to a place with my one true love.... if only.
