	it is a very beautiful song, and a very sad one, and i agree that it is about the war between the indians and the white men, and it is unfair, because the indians didnt have weapons or trained men, and white men destroyed their habitat and them, too

	Makes me think of the American westward expansion, mostly how one-sided and ecumenical it was. The Trail of Tears was a famous example of the suffering inflicted on Native Americans...sadly, it is not the only one. The use of Lakotan is haunting...nothing offers more indemnification than the voice of your victim...

	Creek Mary's Blood is a book by Dee Brown about Native Americans. I presume that the song refers to this but I'm not sure-I haven't actually read the book. Its a very beautiful song-one of my favourites on that album.
