| Its sad that majority of people listening Nightwish usually praises really lousy/crappy songs they made after Wishmaster album while pearls like this always stay aside. | |

| This song is a biblical interpretation on the last days of Jesus Christ. It talks about "the wolf of lonliness" because Jesus knew he was going to die, while no-one else did,and had to suffer alone. Gethsemane was his final place of "freedom" before he was sent to captivity. I also beleive Tuomas has given in impact of subtle romance in there also, for the "beauty loved by a beast" is a reference to another Nightwish song which is about love. | |

| what did Jesus do in the Garden of Gethsemane? maybe if I knew, I'd know how his time in there relates to the rest of the song, as for the rest of the song...this song is so obviously about being in hopeless love with someone, its about loving them so much that they were your everything, you know, like the reason you'd get up in the morning and all that, but they're not there anymore for some reason, and now you feel like you have nothing to live for anymore | |

| black angel: Gethsemane is the garden Christ visited shortly before his death. It is where he prayed for hours and where he spoke such words as "Father, if it be your will, let this cup pass from me" and "Not my will but thine be done". Tuomas obviously references it, but the story seems to focus more on his own lost love than the biblical story. | |
