I think this song is about gaining imortality by being remembered after you are dead.

Hmm...I'm going out on a limb here...I dunno that much about Nightwish so I'm probably wrong...self-proclaimed crackpot theory made by combining other theories mentioned: Maybe it's called Nightquest because it was Nightwish's original goal when they started: Immortality (maybe like Amoebathegrate said, through being remembered when they're gone? For their music? (similar to how the Beatles will probably be remembered for much, much MUCH longer). Like Lothmiril said, each part represented a band member-the questers who were setting out for the immortality, and maybe Ravenwolf was right-maybe they decided to enjoy the ride-to enjoy what it is that they do instead of aiming for the immortality part of it. In short: it's about them, their mission, and perhaps a learned lesson. But I'm probably wrong. XD

"A warrior of power along the path" is obviously Jukka, drummer. I think that Tuomas wrote this song even before Sami joined the band.

It's just a cute song without any deeper meaning (but f course it's not senseless either) And it's about band members - each part is abutone of them: Storyteller, The Pied Piper is Tuomas Led by a maid - Queen of the night is Tarja A merry minstrel with his fingers fast obviously Emppu A warrior of power along the path - um... could be Wilska or Sami? no not marco, he wasn't with the band I am the mastermind, the wizard to show the way is Tero, their manager

hat I thought was they started out questing for immortality, but maybe along the way they realized they should just enjoy life while they have it. That's what I got from the line, "Forget the task, enjoy the ride," anyway. The more I think about it, though, the more I agree with Amoebathegrate.
