| ....I think it's another of Tuomas's 'inner child' songs. He's not really talking about dreaming your life away: he's talking about ceasing to dream. He's warning people not to give up their dreams: "Cherish the moment Tower the skies Donīt let the dreamer fade to grey like grass" But, meh, as with most of his songs, you can make an argument either way.....Though where these people keep coming up with the 'Christ' arguments is beyond me..... | |

| I agree with binni on the meaning, and yeah, it's a great song! Probably my favorite bu Nightwish, either this or She Is My Sin. | |

| I think it's something to do with adultery.. "For with the wife of his best friend He spent his final night of freedom" It's all about love.. "He knew that it would cost him dear But yet he dare not say Where he had been that fateful night A secret it must stay" fearing for what may happen to the woman he was having an affair with and obviously the friendship he's already risked. This is all I can come up with at the moment, and for the record Nightwish are amazing :) | |

| This song, without a doubt is one of their masterpieces. Many of you have already pointed out the meaning of this song: A man who sleeps with his best friend's wife, gets unjustly framed. And can't prove his innocence. It gives such an olden days theme I find. Awesome song | |

| I head the original version of this song. They are both good. The Nightwish version has better chorus and is harder but the Gary Moore version is good too. | |

| I think it means: A man is occused of a robbery he didn't commit, and without an alibi he would go to Jail, but he was in fact with the wife of his best friend that night. Not wanting to hurt his best friend or ruin his best friends marrige, he keeps quiet and goes to jail. Then the bit we do not hear is that the Marrige breaks up anyway, and the ex-wife goes to the imprisoned man. She sends him letters and they both wish they were together. The End. | |
