Being Native American, this song is very important to me. My ancestors followed the trail of tears, and were driven out of their homelands by the Europeans. I live in the UK, while my family live in lands given to us by the government in Canada. We never forget what was done to us, some elders even hating the white man for it, though most have come to accept it, and things are better now. This song encompasses everything about our culture and that time. I am not Lakotan, but the poem and chanting still make me smile. It is not often we see a band with no native american roots of their own making a song about the injustice done to us.(At least, I assume they have no roots)

My favourite line of this song is: Sceneries painted beautiful in blood. This song is equally (in my ears) good as Ghost Love Score.

The best part is almost 5 minutes into the song when someoneshouts something that sounds like "OOOHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHH" over some really fast and heavy music. I dont know what they are saying or whos singing (likely Marco) but sounds really awesome.

I think this song is about the Red Indians of America whose land was savagely taken from them by the greed of white people. As the songs says: White Man came, saw the blessed land, we cared, you took, you fought, we lost, not the war but an unfair fight, sceneries painted beautiful in blood. How sad :( It ends with: 'Our spirit was here long ago before you, long before us and long will it be after your pride brings you to your end.' The spirit of the indians will always be there, it will always be there land.

it's great to see tuomas write songs about matters other than his personal emotions. i like personal songs like 'dead boy's poem' but it's great to see changes too, especially through such a beautiful song.

It's about the Trail of Tears, ie how Martin Van Buren totally fucked over the Natives.

it wasn't the americans who took the land intially; it was the europeans.
