| It's a very beautiful song; melodic, and just a little bit haunting ... But it doesn't stand out, you know? Tarja's voice was powerful and unique, it was one of the things that made Nightwish stand out from other rock/metal/whatever bands. Annette's voice is very pretty and all, but it's generic. It sounds like any one of a number of female vocalists. Still, I can get used to it, I suppose, and I actually do really like the song a lot. | |

| Tarja's voice was amazing, you can't deny that. But I love the new singer, as different as she is. Before Eva came out, and they announced the new singer, I was half-hoping she'd sound just like Tarja, half-hoping she'd be different. It's cooler this way, though. If she sounded like Tarja, there'd really be nothing to be too excited about. | |

| Tarja had the right to be a Diva, since she was the image of Nightwish and a major reason for their success, but it wasn't the right thing to do. Bands members need to be good at working together and not crediting everything to one person. Personally I loved Tarja's voice and its a shame to lose it, but Annettes voice is beautiful instead of Tarjas powerful. Still great. I dont really like the song too much though, was hoping for something more "metal" to be the single. | |

| Here's what Tuomas says about the song(from an interview): Q: Is Eva about a dead child? A: The song is about a child that might be dead soon if nothing is done about it. The end of the song is left to the interpretation of the listener. | |

| Anette has a nice voice and all, but honestly she should've stuck with Siegfried or Dreams of Sanity. I would rather hear Tarja sing this. (But no, she's singing holiday songs in Finnish now). Nightwish made an awful mistake when they kicked her out for being too much of a diva, which I personally think she had every right to do. This new Nightwish is too....new. Don't get me wrong though, its not bad, it actually sounds quite good, but I'm definitely gonna miss the old Nightwish. As for the song; if this is how the rest of the album is going to sound then I definitely can't wait for the realease this September. | |

| well, actually the mastermind behind nightwish it's Tuomas. So in this band the pianist it's everything. Tarja had an amazing voice, it's true, very unique. But i also like Anette voice, very pretty. It's not better or worse than Tarja, it's just different... Cheers | |

| About innocence, about hope - as always, it seems. About a little girl abused by people around her, but still having faith in life, in her dreams, in good side of human nature. She sets on her journey to find the better side of life, to find the humanity in people probably. That's the overall meaning, it seems. I don't think Tuomas ever tried to be very specific with his lyrics, trying to tell some specific story or something. Instead he always was able to express emotions like no one else can. I mean, it's a whole life in a song. It's so full of pure beauty, innocence and hope... It's unbelievable. That's what art was always supposed to be. You don't need Tarja's strong vocals to deliver this song to people. The words are strong enough. Honestly, the more I read the lyrics AND listen to this one, the more I think this is probably one of the best Tuomas' works to date. | |

| Tarja definitely had a unique sound, but I often found that most people would just stare at me, dumbfounded, and ask me just what the hell I was listening too, so perhaps Tarja’s sound was just a tad too unique for the typical North American listener, but I quite enjoyed her style, though, as someone stated above, I often found it hard to understand her at time because she had such a heavy accent. Anette has a gorgeous voice that leans more towards how English sounds in North America than Tarja’s ever did, and it made this song quite a haunting little number, ‘time for one more daring dream’ is what personally snared my attention. But everyone has to remember that this is just a single! If Nightwish released a song like ‘Forever Yours’, which is also an absolutely beautiful song, by the way, as a single, the metal heads that enjoy Nightwish now would have given this band a pass, so I believe that judging Anette on one song that is out of the usual Nightwish genre is unfair, and that if you really wanted to get something to compare it to, go see if you can dig up some of her previous workings. I personally have not listened to any of Anette’s previous vocal work, but I trust that Nightwish isn’t stupid enough to ignore where their loyalties lie and pick someone who wasn’t capable of even coming close to filling Tarja’s shoes. | |

| Um... wow. Okay, I loved Tarja, I really did. I respected her for her voice and everything, but this song is so... beautiful. I like Anette's voice better. Her voice is softer, I like it. It makes the songs more beautiful. Of course, Tarja's voice was wonderful and all but... nope. Anette takes the cake here. Anyways, about the song. To me it sounded like a song about a child leaving innocence behind. You know, that time in life when you no longer have that childish innocence. I dunno, that's how I interpreted it. | |

| As much as I loved Tarja, if you read how they felt about her in the end, I can understand why they let her go, but they all love each other and their music too much to stop. And I think Anette has a beautiful voice, and this song sounds amazing, so I think they did what was right for their band. I was scared that it wouldn't turn out, and I had low expectations, but I knew they wouldn't pick a singer unless she was going to make their band so much more than it was. I think this song is awesome and I am stoked for the new album. | |

| Tarja was an beautiful singer in her own right. Everything she sang was gorgeous, but i'd have to admit it was a little hard to understand sometimes (probably my inability to hear). she was a major factor of the band and will be missed by this one, but im willing to listen to the new music coming out. Annette is a bit clearer to understand, with a style she shines in. I do hope Annette does well with the "gods" known as Nightwish. its a change, and change is (almost) always good. hope Nightwish remains as great as before or becomes even greater! | |

| They've put a lyrics on the official www.nightwish.com Here: 6:30 winter morn Snow keeps falling, silent dawn A rose by any other name Eva leaves her Swanbrook home A kindest heart which always made Me ashamed of my own She walks alone but not without her name Eva flies away Dreams the world far away In this cruel children's game There's no friend to call her name Eva sails away Dreams the world far away The Good in her will be my sunflower field Mocked by man to depths of shame Little girl with life ahead For a memory of one kind word She would stay among the beasts Time for one more daring dream Before her escape, edenbeam We kill with her own loving heart Eva flies away Dreams the world far away In this cruel children's game There's no friend to call her name Eva sails away Dreams the world far away The Good in her will be my sunflower field Makes more sense, eh? :) Best band ever. And the new singer is lovely. | |

| leave it to tuomas to deliver another amazing song. what i am afraid of is that the same thing will happen to them as what happened to theatre of tragedy. They were the frontrunners in metal music but they decided to ditch liv and change their style still expecting to have the same success. Don’t get me wrong, they are still a good band and nell is a good singer (just like Anette is) but they lost their uniqueness and with that they lost their fame and success. By ditching tarja, they ditched the one thing that made them unique. Tarja is rated nr 19 on the list of best female rock/metal vocalist ever. None of the band members rate on the best rock/metal mucisian list. For the first time in a very long time I can admit that I prefer within temptation over nightwish. Maybe this might change, it is just that I was so disappointed when I heard the new singer. I honestly was expecting someone like vibeke stene, someone that could match tarja’s singing abilities and surpass them. What I got was someone that sings just like avril lavigne…which sucks. Now the song itself; What I noticed is that the lyrics are less symbolic than usual. it is pretty self explanatory. | |

| If you think Tarja ruined all she sang, then you would be no fan of nightwish. She actually sang all the other songs, didn't she? And sure, i could start to like Anette too, but this is like a new band, and Nightwish are dead, so Toumas is quite right when he describes this as a new era. | |

| To me, the song sounds like it's looking back on Eva's life, rather than being the straightforward present. There's parts that suggest Eva came out of the turmoil in her life sucessfully and found a good home somehwere.... | |
