Deep (From the Tomb Raider Soundtrack)
By Nine Inch Nails
Transcribed by ElectricTriangle
Tuning: DADGBE
Dear God, can no one tab any NIN songs right?! I know there are
some good ones out there, like the one for The Frail that's
everywhere, but a lot of them suck beyond words. The worst part
is everyone copies and pastes the same *** tabs onto every site
without even looking at them so all the crap is everywhere and
you have to look through 10 identical wrong ones to find the
right one (if you're lucky).
Anyway, this isn't perfect, but I don't feel like taking the
extra time to get every little layer and gracenote in. Maybe
I'll fix it up later. Either way it's still way better than that
other thing that was up before.

able to capture the exact sound of the slide there, you can try
the pre-bend/release thing if it works better for you.)

tremolo picking, the number of notes written there is how many
beats.)

Solo^ (It's just like the same 3 notes with tremolo picking and a
wah. The exact order isn't really important, just the feeling of
it.)

| I looked at this song differently than it's video and sex. I believe this is a song about someone with some problems, very confused, and constantly trying to figure out what the fuck is going on in their head. Depression sucks, and sometimes it's so heavy you have to really work to get back to your normal self again. I believe Trent is actually speaking to himself, trying to get out of a depression, or problematic state by digging deep inside of his head trying to unlock whatever the fuck is wrong and get back on his feet again. | |

| Great song, too bad it never got a proper single release. It is real amazing when it is used in Tomb Raider (especially since you can see Angelina mouthing the lyrics) | |

| Yeah, I have to agree with ana99, this video wasn't the greatest. Mark Romanek directed the videos for "Closer" and "Perfect Drug" and he is GENIUS WITH TRENT REZNOR!!!!!!!! Yeah, this song is confusing in a sense b/c of the video, but not a bad song about a guy who imagines a girl overall. | |

| no need to feel perverted about wondering if this song is about sex, it goes without saying... i think he's being used in this song and he knows it, but he still tries to persuade the woman to love him because they 'could make it all disappear'. a personal favorite of mine. | |

| The music video "Deep" isn't the best, but at least Trent is covered with paint. I thought it (the music video) was about a bank robbery...which wouldn't make any sense, because that's not the vibe I get from the song...I get the first comment for this song vibe. However, I don't take "deep" to be a, ahem, physical deep...I think it's like, someone messed with his feelings and it hit him really deep. I don't know, I just really, really, really love this song. It rocks...hard. Very hard. The Pefect Drug music video kinda sucks, guys, sorry. Starfuckers, Inc., now that's a good video. | |

| I always thought this was another "people are horrible" song. Don't get me wrong, those are the songs that make me want to have Trent's babies. The opening lines seem to say that his life is empty and worthless. He suddenly wants to get away from it, but he's too numb and seems to be dragged down by an equally worthless female. Then, instead of really trying to make something of his life, he tries to fill the emptiness with desperate sex, trying to convince his lady that it's actualy meaningful. Thus ends my cynical ranting. Thank you. | |

| I liked the video for Deep. It really had nothing to do with anything, but Trent's coat rocks my world, and the video is a compelling peice of whatever it is. | |

| NoNoNoNo, sinister. This video is very bad. VERY. Well, maybe for some pop-punk ass bad, but this is NIN. And yes, Ana99, Trent said that this is what happens when the director has a different point of view than you for the video. The video has nothing to do with the song. Its quite odd; but then again, if you had the choice, what would the video be like? I hate to say it, but even the song isn't that good- this coming from a very dedicated NIN fan. Gets boring after hearing it for a while. Just imagine, when NIN (or Trent) retires, the boxset of shit that would come out. Holy crap- we are looking at cd after cd after cd after cd after dvd after dvd after dvd of stuff from this guy. Truly one of the best rock bands out there, a fan of them or not. | |

| I finally figured out the video. LOL. Stupid me, really its not that complicated to figure out, you just need to get the order it goes in. Its one of those videos that start here, then they go there and then back and forth. I just don't understand how they both got boxes... | |

| I didnt mind the video, wasnt the greatest, and even Trent says the video sucks. Its actually a pretty confusing video. Whats up with that fake Connie Chung in the beggining? No never mind this video does suck. I like it when the NIN videos deal with stuff that they should, like toilets and monkey crucifictions. mmmmm that "The Perfect Drug" video is nothing short of perfection. Let's hear it for Trent for having some kick ass videos! | |

| keep in mind that this song exists for the sound track. the video, like tomb raider is about capturing valuables, the great heist. unlike other sound track songs (perfect drug comes to mind) this song was dependant on the movie, instead of being accepted as a track. as for the content, the script was terrible. the car crash was exciting and seeing trent in a classic muscle car was a bit cool too, but i wouldn't be shocked if i heard he was embarassed by the content of the video. | |
