| I think it was the first line of this song that caught my attention as I was in a coma of Oasis-induced bliss while listening to Morning Glory for the first time... "Here's a thought for every man who tried to understand what's in his hands" I think the song is a semi-autobiographical account of a rock star - he's given this amazing talent that he doesn't really understand, but does his best, then ultimately, he loses his soul. Beautifully tragic...unusually melancholy. | |

| I agree with bleedthecoloursopen. I think this song could also be about a person who died having an unfifilled life | |

| To me... the song sounds like it's about someone who is dead... but they think they're still alive. The part, "as i face the sun i cast no shadow", because ghosts don't cast shadows. Proabably completly wrong, but my idea!!!!!! | |

| I'm sure it's written about himself. Noel seems to only be able to express himself through music and his lyrics. He wrote this song on the same day as Wonderwall, I think, which contains the line "There are many things that I would like to say to you, but I don't know how". | |
