i think it means he is thinking about life before he was famous and also how he cant control time but i think often times oasis songs arent all about one thing as many great songs arent so you cant just base the entire song meaning on one lyric.

I took a walk with my fame Down memory lane I never did find my way back i always took this to mean that he looked back on his memories, and kind of became obsessed with them, and wanted to relive the good old days, before he was famous.

I agree this is the most underrated Oasis song. It's really great. I think what I like the most is the way Liam sings the verses. I like the verses more than the chorus.
