| For me, this is the most beautiful song in the world. Liam wrote Songbird for Nicole Appleton, a Canadian, one of the members of the group All Saints (have you ever heard the song Never Ever?) If I'm not mistaken, Nicole was his fiancee then. They also have a son, Gene Appleton Gallagher. Songbird is on the Album Heathen Chemistry. For Chris Martin, vocalist of the band Coldplay, he also stated that Songbird was the most beautiful song in the world. It made him cry. It all fits, doesn't it? Nicole has a very nice voice, and the subject Songbird fits her. Liam is my number one crush, and I have to hand it to Nicole, LIAM GALLAGHER WROTE HER A SONG!! It's true that Liam's influence is John Lennon, and I'm sure that John Lennon (who will always be my favorite person apart from my mom and dad) would be so proud. I am a fan of The Beatles, but my #1 favorite song is Songbird. I've got to hand it to Liam, this song is incredibly beautiful and sweet. I could ask for no more. ;P | |

| He did good job on this. It's a very cute little song with very easy chords that have been used a million times by other artist in the same progression( G - G/F# - Em), but it doesn't matter how difficult the chords are and all that bullshit. The lyrics are corny and very nice at the same time. At first I was expecting him to sound like Lennon, but his voice is so good on this track. He sounds like Richard Ashcroft to me on this tune. His voice is very clear and less scratching. He is actually singing really well. He hasn't sounded this good since the first album. | |

| I think it's about a girl who makes him want to write songs, and inspires him. Kind of like his muse. "Bird" is just slang for girl, like chick. That's what makes this song so clever, she's his song 'bird'. Sigh. | |

| Has anybody heard the demo of Songbird? Personally i prefer it, although the album version is beautiful, the demo is electric and it sounds great! | |

| surprised there arent any more comments on this one... anyways.. i think this song isnt confusing at all.. the only part that people may have doubts on is the "shes not anyone part".. these few words make the song... i think that when he says "shes not anyone" he is saying that.. she is someone... obviously someone important. shes not just anyone... | |

| >gasp!< You mean Nicole got pregnant, with Robbie as well? Some lucky girl... And by the way, It's really PILOT, not pirate. I listened to Liam playing Songbird in acoustic, and it's obviously PILOT. E-mail me if you have some additional infos about Liam, won't you? I'd like to hear it. Thanks! pJ ;P | |

| Yes, actually she got pregnant with Robbie as well, but she was "forced" (according to her) to have an abortion by All Saint's managers, something that they both could never get over... I read it a while ago in some Robbie's site, since Nicole recently published the whole story in an autobiography, I think. There's a lot about it around the net, i.e. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/10/09/1034061257016.html It makes me sad for Robbie, he wanted to keep the baby... She must be special, girl! :p | |
