Obviously not political per se but rather opinionated for an Oasis tune I always thought. Great song. Very simple. And yeah, I think on the DualDisc version of DBTT on the DVD side Noel talks about how they were listening to the Velvet Underground while writing this song or something. He mentioned something of them. Great song though. I like the simplicity. I like punk though so this is clockwork for me heh. I really like the line "and as you face your disease you can squeeze into the emperor's clothes" I think the line "You get your truth from the lies you were learned" speaks of people growing up being told all of these things that we become slave to, like tradition in general feeds us into this direction of being, and really it's all just a bunch of lies. Then Noel goes and says "you found your god in a paperback" that's great to hear.

what are you talking about man? of course its still Noel. He's the backbone of the band, it wouldn't exist if it wasnt for him. He sings this song, and he wrote it. I dont know what youre talking about

This is Oasis' worst song. No doubt. Compared to this, The Swamp Song is a masterpiece...

As already mentioned the song is a rip off of a Velvet Underground song. Nevertheless the new album is easily the best one they've done in a long long time. This song however is probably my least favourite on there.

brighteyes_85: The lyrics were submitted in April. The guy likely didn't have the CD booklet, seeing as how the CD was released in late May.

Making Alan White leave the band (Noel certainly has a problem with drummers) allowed them to concentrate more on the instruments and to make them protrude more over simplistic rhythyms. This song goes to show his genius at such a simple beat. Top Notch song! - fav part is how he delivers, "Ya mind!"

He's proved once again he has a knack for a master tune. Seems like hes moaning about life in London here?
