A E B
To-night I'm a rock'n'roll star
A E B
To-night I'm a rock'n'roll star
A E B

Then: repeat the whole of above until :
To-night I'm a rock'n'roll star

A E B

A
Are you down with who I am

solo: over verse chords (B A E)
To-night I'm a rock'n'roll star
To-night I'm a rock'n'roll star
To-night I'm a rock'n'roll star.
Then at the end there is a bit of a free-for-all - it goes first to an
A (slide up from G) then I *think* it is E (fingered at 1st fret)
and an E shape slid up two frets (so a sort of F#) - I may be wrong
on this bit though - so any takers ?

| The meaning of this song seems pretty clear to me, it was the first track on Oasis' first album. To all the people who didn't care about Liam and Noel before they're saying, now you do care because we've made it and we're famous. There's also reference to people who'd told them it was stupid to persue a career in music. Telling them all the work had paid off and they'd left their "lives in the city" behind. | |

| This isn't a retrospective look at their lives pre-superstar millionaires. It was written in the first Definitley Maybe sessions along with Slide Away, they sang it at small gigs when they wern't famous and that's why Noel loves it. It was so unbelievabley cocky. It's about not being a rock and roll star, but going out and acting/feeling like you are anyway, fuck it. Oasis = untouchable. What a choon. | |
