I was singing this song in a dream I had once and my future boyfriend walked over to me. He sat behind me and sang it with me covering over my mistakes.

I think this song is about a man mulling over suicide. I think he trying to think over the existential question and not the practical questions of such an action. He's a saint but he constricted by a heavy heart and he believes suicide is the only way out.

It is about not stressing about the little things... Sometimes things don't pan out the way you want them too, other times stuff you thought was horrible ends up turning for the better. I agree somewhat with OpinionHead and that it could be about suicide, but I don't think that it is necessarly that far. Could just be about someone who had a run of bad luck and they are really down. I think that the last lines of the song kind of piece together the two extremes: And all we have to lose is time And what lose we leave behind Stay around and we will shine Keep trying and eventually things will turn out for the better, you might not ever figure out why and you might lose something along the way, but eventually you will gain more then you lose if you keep at it. Great song.

I agree with emopunkgirl22... i think it's about loving somebody, who don't know you are there or don't love yot the way you love him/her. But i doesn't matter, because you are always going to be there even if it kills you... I first heard the song and didn't like it that much, but after i knew the lyrics, i loved it!
