Osbourne, Ozzy Shot In The Dark Guitar Tab

O.K. the other tabs on here have parts of the song right but heres how i play it.
This sounds correct to me, but its hard to tell cuz the guitar wasn't mixed well
on Ultimate Sin. The timing isnt exact but i feel like this is a good tab other
then that
LEGEND:
h= Hammer on
p= Pull off
[ ]= Artificial/pinch harmonic
B= Full bend
b= Half bend
Tr= Tremolo picking
/= slide up
r= release bend
PM= palm muting
*= natural harmonic
~= Vibrato
BB= full bend then release a little then bend bend back to full bend
( )= optional note,play it if you want

Intro:
ok for the first part of the intro you're hitting natural harmonics and bending them.
bend them by pressing down on the string on the headstock, or if you have a floating
just use the bar to bend up.

Gb|--14tr---16tr---14tr---12tr---14tr---16tr--------------------------------|
Db|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Eb|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
k so after the solo you play a prechorus then the chorus then u do the intro
again with different fills in between it, the fills are all round like 3rd 5th
or 7th fret with fast hammer ons n pull offs n pinch harmonics so you can have
fun make your own fills :-)
alright peace,
Phil (metaljunkie22)

Shot In The Dark is probably my favourite Ozzy song, I always thought it had something to do with vampires, since there were vampires in the video but yeah, a hitman makes alot more sense.

Hmm.. I think this is actually a song about the assassination of John Lennon. It's sung from Mark Chapman's point of view. Just my opinion...

I remember reading/seeing an interview with Ozzy when this record came out when I was in high school and the explanation he gave was that it was about two assassins in love with each other and they found out their next assignment was each other. Very "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" but 20 years prior.

slavemasta: That mentality is a stain on music. Who says that a song can't be literal? What makes you think that every songwriter in the world sits down to write a song and says "Okay, I'm writing this, but I really want it to mean something else". Save the overextended metaphors for the only people it benefits: dipshit college students trying to get laid. Once you get past that pseudo-intellectual crap, you can learn to appreciate something as it is written.

this song sounds like it's about a assassin is walking right behind their victim and while he's doing so he is thinking about how much he hates doing this but it's the only thing he knows how to do and it's all he's ever been taught no matter what it's about it always has been and always will be my fav Ozzy song ever!!!

Sounds like its about a hired killer resenting his job / target to kill. Good song with a short but good Guitar solo from Jake E. Lee.
