Title: Everyone's A Junkie
Album: Spiritual Machines

This is pretty close. The second bar of the chorus is slightly off, but sounds
alright. And with the verse solo bit, don't go any lower then the 8th fret of the a
string, or any higher then the nineth fret of the d string. Just basically stay
around the 8-10th frets of those strings. But hey, thats just my way!

Verse:
----------|----------|--------------|-----------------------------------------
----------|----------|--------------|-----------------------------------------
------10--|----------|---------10-9-|-----------------------------------------
-10-8-----|---10-8-10|----10-8------|-----------------------------------------
----------|----------|--------------|-----------------------------------------
----------|----------|--------------|-----------------------------------------
Solo around a little but over top of the bass in the verse, using these riffs as
a basis.

The part where Raine is singing "Big green monkey, Everyone's a Junkie" over and over..
Let the feedback build on this note (a wah-wah pedal helps), and use the volume
control to create feedback swells.

Lyrics:
I'm not waiting for the answers
On a Sunday afternoon
I'm just too drunk to remember
What I always slept through
The drugs and fake admission
Are helping me to hide
(No clue what Raine says here!)
That has kept me inside

Where does it stop?
Where does it end?
Where do we go?
Why am I always complaining?

I can be good
I can be bad
I can't be alive
But

Life, Looking for that sun
Looking for that lie
Lonely,
The only one who feels this way is

Big green monkey
Everyone's a junkie

I'm not asking (??) to end this
There are things that I don't know
But I'm really not that different
You just made me think so

Where does it stop?
Where does it end?
Where do we go?
Why am I always complaining?

I can be good
I can be bad
I can't be alive
But

Life, Looking for that sun
Looking for that lie
Lonely,
The only one who feels this way is

Big green monkey, Everyone's A Junkie

Life, Looking for that sun
Looking for that lie
Lonely,
The only one who feels this way is
I'll remember this someday

Life, Looking for that sun
Looking for that lie
Lonely,
The only one who feels this way is

Okay, I always thought this song was about addiction, but I always thought he was talking about money. "Big green monkey, everyone's a junkie". I remember kind of laughing the first time I heard it, but now that I get it (or I think I do, haha) I realize he is right, everyone is addicted to money. In this world, we don't have a choice, do we? Gosh, some of you guys came up with things I never thought of. WOW.

I do believe, that this song is about a some one who is leading a "bad" life style. He says that, even though what he is doing wrong, that everyone does it to a certain extent. For example, most people watch their weekly television show, they become addicted to it, like this person is to alchohal and drugs. Thus, "big green monkey, everyones a junkie." The everones a junkie part is simple to understand and the big green monkey would be refering to the addiction. Symbolic representation of addictions, ugly, green, feces throwing monsters that plagues us all. So I hope that answers your questions about the "big green monkey" lyrics..

Nicey done, Baseline. I see it both ways, you have enlightened me, man. But I agree with your television theory, I hate t.v. and everything alike. Brainwashes the weak, I tell you.

I love how everyone has different feelings and opinions on this song. Shows how good of a lyricist Maida can be.
